Excellent location, comfy beds, clean, sweet staff. I prefer floor two facing water falls. Quiet with great staff. We will return as the surf is marvelous, pools maintained, massage and gym. Walk to shop. Eat at Dorothy's and Bogarts.

I went to Mexico in 2001 with my best friend and a group of others from school. Not only is the banana real the best drink I've ever had, the stay is nice there. I had the best steak I've ever had at a restaurant by a marina somewhat near by. It's really a good time here I think

The beach, restroom, dinner/food, pool is clean. The food is delicious. But the rooms are dirty, not clean as it should. Found cockroaches lots of times in and out our room (guess its normal over here in the coast). Apart from not being clean room everything else is ok.

The hotel has been updated with beautiful balconies 2 view the sunsets and morning coffee. The staff treats you like family, from the time you arrive until you leave. Some new staff that has joined is great to see ( yes genesis that is you) I will definitely come back again next year. The food I order from the menu will not disappoint. Miss all of you. See you all next year

Posada Real's location is its best quality; the hotel sits ocean front. It needs an update, the comforters look outdated. Room didn't have mini fridge. Lots of families were here during our stay, lots of kids at the pool. The buffet doesn't have a large variety but what they do have tastes good. The staff is lovely. Overall it's a good hotel for the price and the only drawback is the outdated rooms.

We were glad to see the railings on the steps entering the hotel. Now they need a railing on the steps between the pool and the dining room. We have stayed at the Posada various times over the past 20 years and have never been disappointed. It must be a great place to work. There are several employees that were there when we stayed 20 years ago. The all inclusive buffet is one of the best in Ixtapa. We were never disappointed. This has become our favorite hotel in Ixtapa. Keep up the good work. Bill and Jeri from Omaha.

We bought the all inclusive package which includes the room, food and beverages. Rooms are clean, pool is clean, it's literally right on the beach. The only issues was the food variety and the size of the rooms. But overall it's a great resort I would recommend staying here.

I am not sure what everyone with negative reviews is expecting out of this place. I am pretty sure it is not even rated at 4 stars... All I can say is that we stayed there for 9 nights starting in the middle of Jan/2018 and the stay was amazing. I found no dirtiness in the rooms at all & we had them cleaned every other day. Yeah they could use some updating, but what do you expect at this price point? The safe was great as it wasn't electronic, just carry the key & go. We had one issue with the AC when we were there and they fixed it right away when we were at the pool. We previously stayed at the Memories resort in Veradero, Cuba and getting anything fixed there was a joke. The only thing I would add to the room would be a mini fridge. Also if you plan on partying all night somewhere and then sleeping in you will most likely get woke up. The other guests opening and closing their doors in the morning can wake you up, so bring some earplugs if you want to sleep in. The infinity pool is amazing, and the staff are very friendly. Some people need to learn how to talk to them though. I seen one guy get upset and start bitching because the bar didn't open at exactly 11 one morning (it was like a minute late), what a joke... As for the location, it is great. It took us about 7 mins to walk to the downtown area to eat. The water in the ocean was always warm, with plenty of activity on the beach. You are also close to the parasailing & about a 5-7 min walk away from renting the jet skis. This is not a party town. We didn't go there expecting it to be either. They have like 1 nightclub but it didn't look busy. It is a place to relax and have fun. As for excursions, find Luiz in the lobby area. He was amazing. We did the Sunset cruise, Sail & Snorkel with the Spinnaker, Deep Sea Fishing, & Ixtapa Island. Out of the 4 excursions, I would say definitely do the sunset cruise and the Sail & Snorkel. If you enjoy fishing, obviously do that as well. Ixtapa Island was fun as well & gives you a lot of opportunity to snorkel more. Just don't stand or sit on the coral! About the food in the restaurant... I thought the food was going to be like the food in Cuba there so for the first bit we just ate out at restaurants which was the plan all along (we got the hotel with the drink included but no meals). One day we tried lunch there (not the buffet but something from the menu) and were pleasantly surprised. I ate the buffet dinner there a few times after during the stay & it was fine. The tacos/fajitas were great! To top it off, the person I was with got sick on the last day & wanted to stay in the room till we had to take a cab to the airport. The staff had no issues letting us stay in the room a couple hours past checkout (I guess it was better that then have her lay in the lobby area looking sick in front of guests). We really appreciated this, & I know not every hotel would do this (Shout out to Memories Veradero & its sad manager that charged us $30 for checking out an hr late after having taken so long to fix the issues in our room). I have also seen some people talk about this hotel being an old boys club or just a place where everyone comes in big groups that knows each other and that you can't make friends. When we were there, there was a group of 60 friends from Minnesota. They were really friendly, invited us out, and we drank with them as well. It was a great time. I would say that the resort attracts about 50% North American people & 50% Mexicans (at least when we were there). Ixtapa is a place where people in Mexico go to vacation as well. Everyone was friendly the whole time (Other than the jerk that was mad the bar didn't open right at 11). I would tip the bar staff usually once per day, & it really helps them out as they do a great job. Don't expect premium drinks here, but the cerveza's are always cold. The only other places in Ixtapa that looked interesting stay wise would have been the Dorado, & Las Brisas. Honestly, for the price point you will not be disappointed with Posada Real! All the Best.
